Senator Mike Rounds, representing South Dakota in the U.S. Senate, recently shared updates from his activities across the state on social media, highlighting engagement with local communities and institutions.

On September 2, 2025, Senator Rounds posted about a meeting with regional leaders: "Great to join Sioux Metro Growth Alliance for their Mayors Coffee to hear an update on communities in the Sioux Falls area."

The following day, he visited his alma mater and reconnected with university leadership. On September 3, 2025, he wrote: "Good to be back on campus at my alma mater South Dakota State University! Had a great time catching up with SDSU president Barry Dunn."

Rounding out the week, Senator Rounds participated in a discussion hosted by a local business organization. On September 4, 2025, he stated: "Last week, I had the opportunity to join the Sioux Falls Chamber for our annual Inside Washington discussion. We had a great conversation covering many topics including the economy, healthcare, agriculture, AI, foreign policy and more."

Senator Rounds has served as one of South Dakota’s U.S. Senators since 2015. The Sioux Metro Growth Alliance is an economic development organization focused on advancing communities in the Sioux Falls metropolitan region. South Dakota State University is the largest public university in South Dakota and plays a significant role in higher education within the state. The Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce regularly organizes events that connect policymakers with business leaders and residents.
