Senator Mike Rounds has recently highlighted his meetings with several advocacy groups and industry representatives in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On September 23, 2025, Senator Rounds shared details of his engagement with the construction sector, stating, "Had the opportunity to meet with the Associated General Contractors of South Dakota last week to discuss how we can support the construction industry and its workforce at the federal level. The professionals in this field play a vital role in building and maintaining our roads".

Later that day, he discussed healthcare access initiatives after meeting with a state advocate for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In his post dated September 23, 2025, Rounds wrote, "Had a conversation with Kathy Mitzel, Political Advocate COPD State Captain for South Dakota this week. We discussed bipartisan efforts to improve Medicare access to home oxygen therapy and virtual cardiac and pulmonary rehab."

The following day, on September 24, 2025, Senator Rounds addressed cancer research funding following discussions with an advocacy group. He stated, "This week, I visited with reps from the American Cancer Society. We had an important conversation on how we can support funding and research for cancer patients. This issue is personal for me and I appreciate this group’s commitment to fighting for cancer patients and cancer".

Senator Mike Rounds represents South Dakota in the U.S. Senate. His recent public statements reflect ongoing dialogue between lawmakers and various professional organizations on issues ranging from infrastructure development to healthcare policy.
