Senator Mike Rounds, who represents South Dakota in the U.S. Senate, shared several updates on September 18, 2025, highlighting his engagement with key constituencies and organizations in his state.

In a post celebrating the anniversary of a major military branch, Rounds wrote: "Happy 78th birthday to the United States Air Force! Thank you to all the airmen stationed in South Dakota, across the country and around the world for bravely defending our nation." (September 18, 2025).

Later that day, he addressed agricultural issues following a meeting with local farmers. In his words: "Enjoyed speaking with South Dakota Farmers Union. Our farmers have had a record year for crop production and are facing uncertain markets. Good discussion on what we can do to help at the federal level." (September 18, 2025).

Rounds also discussed financial matters impacting rural communities after meeting with credit union representatives. He stated: "Met with an excellent group from SD Credit Unions to discuss the unique challenges faced by credit unions serving agricultural and rural communities." (September 18, 2025).

Senator Rounds has served as one of South Dakota's senators since 2015 and is known for focusing on issues affecting agriculture and rural development. The United States Air Force was established as an independent service branch in September 1947.
