Senator Mike Rounds posted a series of tweets on September 10 and 11, 2025, addressing both energy policy discussions and recent events involving Charlie Kirk.

On September 10, Senator Rounds wrote about his meeting with Secretary of Energy Chris Wright: "Appreciated the opportunity to speak with Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. We discussed the important work happening at the Sanford Underground Research Facility at Homestake, as well as the need for increased American energy production to meet the demands of AI advancements." Above all else, he was a follower of Christ, a father to two beautiful children, a devoted husband and son, and an American who wanted to make this country a better place to"
