U.S. Senator Mike Rounds has been appointed as the Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment for the 119th Congress. Previously, Rounds held the position of Ranking Member of this subcommittee during the 118th Congress.
In his statement regarding this new role, Rounds expressed his commitment to advancing policies that benefit both South Dakota and the broader United States financial industry. "I am pleased to chair the Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance, and Investment for the 119th Congress," said Rounds. He outlined several key priorities for his term as chairman: promoting economic growth, fostering capital formation and investor protection, safeguarding state-based insurance systems, reforming and reauthorizing the National Flood Insurance Program, and developing legislation aimed at removing government-sponsored enterprises from conservatorship.
