U.S. Senator Mike Rounds is inviting college students to apply for internships in his offices for the spring 2025 semester. Opportunities are available in Washington, D.C., and in state offices located in Pierre, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls. The internship program typically spans from January to May, but schedules can be adjusted to meet specific needs. Interns will receive a stipend, and the program collaborates with universities to ensure participants can earn college credit.

“Our internship program is an incredible opportunity for students to experience a deeper understanding of the political process,” said Rounds. “Interns are crucial to our office operations both in South Dakota and in D.C. The program is open to students from all areas of discipline, not just political science. I encourage interested college students to apply for the upcoming spring internship.”

The role of interns includes researching bills, tracking legislation, attending committee hearings and briefings, managing constituent correspondence, and supporting Rounds and his staff across various tasks. Whenever possible, internships can be customized according to the intern's interests.

Applications can be submitted at https://www.rounds.senate.gov/internships until November 15, 2024. For further information, Rebecca Herman can be contacted at (605) 336-0486.
