RAWLINS LIBRARY: FEBRUARY PROGRAMMING

Whether you loves pets, polar bears, or puppets, Rawlins Library has something for you in February.

STORY TIME (WEDNESDAYS)

FEB. 1, 8, 15, & 22, 10 A.M., 10:30 A.M., 1 P.M., AND 1:30 P.M.

Kids ages 0 through pre-kindergarten are invited to Rawlins Library to hear a story during any of the four Wednesday sessions.

SPECIAL STORY TIME WITH SWENSON AND COWAN DENTISTRY

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 22, 10 A.M., 10:30 A.M. 

It’s Kids Dental Health Month. Join staff from Swenson and Cowan Dentistry for a special story time and questions and answers about taking care of little mouths and little teeth.

ADULT BOOK CLUB (TUESDAYS)

FEB. 7, 21, 28

To reserve a book or join the club, email rawlinslibrary@ci.pierre.sd.us, call 605.773.7421, or sign up in person.

Water and coffee are provided. Participants must be 18 or older.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: PUPPET MAKING

THURSDAY, FEB. 2, 3:30 P.M. – 4:15 P.M. 

Celebrate Groundhog Day by creating a groundhog puppet at Rawlins Library. The program is free and open to kids of all ages.

FIRST FRIDAY FREE PLAY

FRIDAY, FEB. 3, 1 P.M., 4 P.M.

Rawlins Library has many assets for you to experiment and learn with. Try out the puppets, white boards, games, gadgets and more. Open to all ages.

TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE LIBRARY DAY

SATURDAY, FEB. 4, 10 A.M., 11:00 A.M.

Hear valentine stories, make valentine cards, get a library card, and explore all the library has to offer. Free and open to kids of all ages. 

LEGO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: ELEMENTARY KIDS

MONDAY, FEB. 6, 3:30 P.M. - 4:15 P.M.

Pack your kids’ creative caps and come to Rawlins Library to free play with their stash of Legos. The program is open to elementary age children.

GAME DAY: TWEENS AND TEENS

TUESDAY, FEB. 7, 3:30 P.M. - 4:15 P.M.

It’s all about fun and games at Rawlins Library. Grab a friend and join others for an afternoon of board games. The program is free and open to tweens and teens.

BOARD GAME NIGHT: ADULT

THURSDAY, FEB. 9, 6 P.M. - 8 P.M.

Grab a friend and join others for an evening of board games at the library. Registration required; open to those 18 and older.

AUTHOR TALK

FRIDAY, FEB. 10, 1 P.M.

Join local author Dr. Kenneth Bartholomew as he discusses Sentenced, his new medical murder mystery novel. The event is free and open to the public. 

BINGO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: ELEMENTARY KIDS

MONDAY, FEB. 13, 3:30 P.M. – 4:15 P.M. 

Elementary students are invited to the library for some after school Bingo fun. The program is free; no registration necessary.

KIDNEY TRANSPLANT TALK

TUESDAY, FEB. 14, 12 P.M. 

Join local Doctor Jenna Wickersham to learn about organ transplants, and her family’s experience with kidney transplants.

DATE WITH A BOOK

THURSDAY, FEB. 13, 6:30-7:30 P.M.

Join the Friends of the Library group to discuss the best book you’ve ever read. Treats are provided. The program is open to anyone 18 and older.

NATIONAL PET LOVERS DAY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

TUESDAY, FEB. 21, 3:30 P.M. – 4:15 P.M. 

Join local vet Dr. Andrea Maahs to learn about being a pet doctor. The program is free and open to kids of all ages.

MYSTERY GAME NIGHT

THURSDAY, FEB. 23, 6 P.M. – 8 P.M. 

Put on your sleuthing hat and join other for a mystery solving evening. The program is free and open to those 18 and older.

NATIONAL POLAR BEAR DAY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

MONDAY, FEB. 27, 3:30 P.M. – 4:15 P.M. 

Learn about the artic bear and create a polar bear craft. The program is free and open to kids of all ages.
