The City of Fort Pierre would like to remind everyone that the burning of refuse is not allowed in the City of Fort Pierre. This includes items such as garbage, rubble, and yard waste like as grass, leaves, and large branches. As stated in City Ordinance L-4, the purpose of this is to maintain health and safety of our residents.
While we do allow the use of fire pits, the wood that is utilized must be the proper size to fit within the burning receptacle.
Please do your part in being a good neighbor and keeping Fort Pierre a safe and healthy community.
