Of the 13,908 people living in Pierre in 2020, 52.7 percent (7,327) were women and 47.3 percent (6,581) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Central South Dakota News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 440. In the 65 and over age range, there were 1,334 females and 1,060 males.
