Of the 356 people living in Pukwana in 2020, 47.8 percent (170) were women and 52.2 percent (186) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Central South Dakota News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 44. In the 65 and over age range, there were 28 females and 32 males.
