Of the 59 people living in Akaska in 2019, 35.6 percent (21) were women and 64.4 percent (38) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Central South Dakota News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 20-to-6. In the 65 and over age range, there were 13 females and 15 males.
