Senator Mike Rounds has recently highlighted several developments and recognitions through his social media posts. On December 11, 2025, he introduced the Krause family from Brandt as his Angels in Adoption honorees for the year. The senator wrote, “Meet the Krause family from Brandt, my 2025 Angels in Adoption Honorees! Emily and Riley Krause fostered eight children before adopting Livia and are currently working toward their second adoption. Their compassion and advocacy continue to inspire a brighter future.”

Later that day, Senator Rounds announced legislative progress regarding Native American history. He stated on December 11, 2025: “Our Wounded Knee Massacre Memorial and Sacred Site Act has passed the Senate and is heading to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. Thank you to everyone involved in getting this legislation across the finish line.” The Wounded Knee Massacre Memorial and Sacred Site Act addresses commemoration of a significant event in Native American history.

On December 13, 2025, Senator Rounds recognized the anniversary of a military institution by posting: “Happy birthday to the National Guard! Thank you to all of the citizen-soldiers in the National Guard working to keep our states and our country safe, especially our fantastic South Dakota National Guard. They make South Dakotans proud!” The National Guard plays a key role as both a state and federal military reserve force.
