U.S. Senator Mike Rounds has introduced a resolution to honor the personnel involved in supporting the 60th Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2025. The resolution acknowledges the efforts of various groups, including the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC), the Architect of the Capitol, and law enforcement officers.
The resolution highlights that President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration faced unique challenges due to unseasonably cold weather, which required some events to be moved indoors. Despite these circumstances, those involved demonstrated dedication and professionalism.
Senator Rounds expressed gratitude for their efforts: “January 20 was a great day for America that would not have been possible without the support of Senator Fischer and Senator Klobuchar’s leadership… Even as the cold weather forced events inside, these individuals worked tirelessly to overcome logistical and operational challenges.”
Majority Leader John Thune also praised those involved: “President Trump’s inauguration would not have happened without the tireless efforts of law enforcement, volunteers, and personnel across the Capitol complex… Their extensive planning and coordination – and their ability to adapt when the entire ceremony had to be moved indoors with just days’ notice – helped ensure the inauguration was a huge success.”
The resolution is cosponsored by several senators from both parties, including Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), among others.
